About Us

One of us flew search and rescue for the Canadian Armed Forces

The rest of us have built, secured and sold systems that have to work when it counts.

Data Policy & Sovereignty

We keep as little as we can, for as short a time as we can.

Canadian-owned

EyesUp is Canadian-owned and Canadian-controlled, and we can tell you where every airframe came from.

Your data is yours

What an aircraft records over a place belongs to the people of that place. You own it, decide who sees it, and can hold it yourself or have it held in Canada.

No surveillance

We build no surveillance tools and take no surveillance work. Military taskings are off the table unless they are directly tied to search and rescue or humanitarian missions.

Modelled on OCAP®

Our data commitments are modelled on the First Nations principles of OCAP®. Where we work with a First Nation, that Nation's own protocols govern.

What is still open

We'd rather be honest about where we are. We need your help.

The question we most want to get right is how to best support each community and organization we partner with. The denser our network is in one location, the more resources we can bring to help the area thrive.

Who we are

A Canadian drone services company at its very beginning, led by two founders and two advisors.

01

Rustom Dadachanji

CTO and President · Cybersecurity

Rustom has spent nearly two decades in information security, protecting some of the world's most recognizable brands. He spent nine years at The New York Times, guiding its security operation through the shift from free advertising to a paywalled subscription business. He then spent eight years at Fast Retailing, the global company behind Uniqlo, latterly as Information Security Senior Manager. He specializes in translating esoteric threats into plain language so business leaders can make good decisions and lead their companies out of dark moments when they happen.

02

Kyle Gibson

Chief Pilot · Search and Rescue

Kyle is a 17-year air force veteran with significant search and rescue experience. He has pulled people out of the bush and knows what it takes to find someone when the clock is the enemy. His career since has stayed close to aerospace and defence, leading operations and building teams that have to perform when it counts. At EyesUp he owns everything that flies: the aircraft, the pilots and the standards they fly to.

Advisors

Michael Smith

UX Research

Michael is an experienced research leader with more than twenty years in the craft. As Executive Director of Experience Research at JPMorganChase, he directed research strategy across five product groups, from conversational AI to digital servicing. Before that he led a centralized UX research team across Chase's entire digital ecosystem as VP, User Experience Research Lead. He is known for turning study insights into narratives that give customer needs the wings to travel through heavily-matrixed organizations.

Joseph Hopkinson

Sales & Operations

Joseph has spent more than two decades on the operating side of technology businesses, including the dispatch, scheduling and order-to-invoice processes that decide whether a service company can scale. He has held senior management roles in Canada and the United States, including through WorkWave's run of field-service acquisitions and ReachLocal's 2010 listing on Nasdaq. He now sells technology consulting services to owners and operators of mid-sized firms, and has built that practice on long-standing relationships rather than volume prospecting. He brings that operating discipline to the delivery standards behind EyesUp's promise.
